Not too long before, he had met with the festival team in Munich. Rainer Huebsch was there, the longstanding organiser on location in Hof and second chairperson of the Cine-Center. He too had just recently been forced to step down from his offices due to health reasons. But now he is back, helping to prepare for the 50th edition, at least as a consulting authority. For the oh so important forum for German film must – and on this all are unanimous – endure after the death of its founder, even if it is hard for everyone to imagine how it can go on without him. The date is set: from 25-30 October 2016, the 50th Hof International Film Festival will take place.
The local football team, which in the meantime no longer is called FC, but rather SpVgg Bayern Hof, is no longer in the fifth league, but now in the fourth: In the spring they made it and ascended to the Bavarian League North, into the highest amateur class, the Bavarian Regional League.
