Just like her parents, 16-year-old Nathalie belongs to the religious community “The Lord’s Church”. Her world is well-ordered, she copes with the community’s duties and challenges as well as constantly being regarded as different thanks to her faith and her parents’ love.

When Nathalie and her family move to Berlin, she goes to a new school where her being different is vilified and scorned. Although times are difficult for her, she rejects the protection of more fair-minded class mates, seeking solace and protection in the family. But then the foundations of this family are thwarted by her biological father’s appearance …
