For years, Bernd (46) has been caring for his bed-ridden mother (85) who seems to be hovering between life and death. His days are hellishly monotonous and lonely. When out shopping, he gets to know a jazz dance teachter, Sabina, and his life begins to change. Taking part in her dance classes, he realises more and more that he has to change his way of life. But his mother undermines all his attempts to free himself of her – at least in Bernd’s eyes.
