2026 Annual General Meeting: Projects by the Film Festival Friends
At the Friends’ Association’s annual general meeting at the “Galeriehaus”, Marcus Traub and Gerhard Lindner reported on the association’s activities in 2025: Festival vouchers for Friends members, information booths at the start of the semester at the Academy for Public Administration and at Hof University of Applied Sciences, an interview with Deutschlandfunk Kultur, an informational presentation at the “Bund der Berliner”, a poster and banner campaign at Hof Central Station, and a team of Friends members staffing the Welcome Desk at the Bürgergesellschaft.
Online, the Friends of the Hof International Film Festival are active on their Website, Instagram and Facebook and are excited to have reached their goal of 1,000 followers on Instagram.
More projects are planned for 2026: presentations and a film festival quiz at both universities, informational talks about the Hof Film Festival, guided tours of the BG festival center for friends and festival guests, and other activities to mark the 60th Hof International Film Festival from October 20 to 25, 2026. There were also suggestions for other initiatives, such as a photo exhibition and a group order for popular “Home of Films” merchandise. Eva Döhla was re-elected as vice chair for another four years.
The association’s focus is on finding new rooms
The issue of rooms remains a hot topic: The Filmtage Friends need a new home for the “Home of Films” archive, as the rooms in the city library are needed for other purposes. A search for suitable facilities in the city of Hof is in progress; approximately 150 square meters are needed for office and archive space, with barrier-free access to the best extent possible. The Friends’ Association hopes to make the Filmtage archive accessible to the public.
