Vérane Frédiani travelled the world to interview star chefs who are opening up new perspectives. We accompany these women into the kitchens of some of the world’s most famous restaurants, but also to cooking schools and into the streets – streetfood is making headway. We also encounter sommeliers, activists and business women who advocate sustainable growth, fight for their place in this male-dominated world and hope to make the world a better place with their concepts of gastronomy. The primary concern of these female chefs is communication as a means of reminding children and adults of their own culture, to strengthen the role of women in society, and to support the local economy.
