The mountain restauranteur from Davos, the nailart designer from Zeulenroda, the Protestant pastor from Frankfurt – they all want to become rich and happy, they all want to be successful. Success and motivation trainer Jürgen Höller teaches them how to go about it.

“Failures are antisocial”, is Jürgen Höller’s motto. Anything can be planned – even success in life. This simple message sells well. “I want, therefore I am.” The instructions Höller’s disciples receive in numerous, ever more expensive seminars seem to guarantee success. Even their motivator’s latest financial crisis doesn’t shake the participants’ belief.

Following three women’s and three men’s search for success over a period of eight months, the film reveals bizarre, touching and unsettling stories about people who want to make it big but in the process increasingly lose touch with themselves. Together with her protagonists, the film maker immerses herself in the world of success addition and conveys insights into the emotional state of a society which has come to equate money with happiness.
