Ana, an 18-year-old first-generation American of Mexican parents living in Los Angeles has everything she needs to attend college – if her parents had the money and, above all, an appreciation of culture. They, however, want their daughter to lose a few pounds and find a suitable husband as soon as possible. But they haven’t taken into account Ana’s strong will to have her own way. The self-confident young woman is prepared to fight for her dreams and her independence.
