For days, an African refugee with no papers and no identity has been in a deportation prison. He is silent and refuses to eat. However, one day when the prison guard assigned to watch the suicidal African discovers a picture of a little girl, he realizes that this is no ordinary detainee. In the dreary loneliness of the prison cell, the two men slowly become closer. Despite their completely different backgrounds, they have something in common, a similar fate: the loss of a loved one. Determined and prepared to risk his job, the guard tries to help the man and to arrange a meeting with the girl in the picture.
