Two women. A journey to oneself. A lost child and one breath, which unites the two women. A torn and loving mother searching for her child. A pregnant woman fleeing from responsibility. Two women, as different as they are, are pushed to the limits of humanity. And yet they are united by a decisive single breath, a decisive single moment. Tessa (37) seems to have the perfect life: she lives with her husband Jan, a successful banker, and their 1½-year-old daughter Lotte in a penthouse apartment in Frankfurt. But the relationship to Jan is somewhat strained, unspoken conflicts smolder. Particularly since Tessa started working again and the au-pair Elena is looking after little Lotte. Elena, 27, lives in Athens. She faces the economic crisis in her homeland with courage and when she goes to Germany to earn money, she remains true to her life motto: “Everything will be okay.” But life isn’t so easy anymore when she becomes pregnant and is suddenly no longer only responsible for herself.
