The couple Christoph and Branko live a middle-class to luxurious life. Christoph gives Bronko a vacation trip to the so-called “Saxon Switzerland” for his birthday. When they cross the border into Saxony, things begin to change.
Everything goes backwards, people behave bizarrely, cheekily, dissolutely and immoderately towards the two. When they arrive at their vacation home, they are observed intensely by others in the house as well as two forest workers. This intense observation serves a planned and staged murder: a person is pushed off a cliff to land right next to Christoph and Bronko. The couple try to save the victim. Afterwards, they are suddenly confronted with a video that shows them as the perpetrators. A veil of gray lies over Saxony.
