Marta, a young German-Polish girl, who has apparently assimilated well into German society, is confronted with her father Piotr’s conservative way of life and faces unexpected challenges. Time pressure and stress in her everyday life only intensify her identity crisis. When she encounters the homeless Polish man Mieczyslaw at her job as a translator for the police department, the situation escalates and she lets all of her frustation out on him.
On her way home to her boyfriend Jonas she already regrets her emotional outbreak. Between her need for boundaries and the search for her own identity, Marta tries to give the day a new twist.
