When Sandra returns home from a foreign assignment, she feels like a stranger. People rushing to work on the subway, yoga classes and her job as a paramedic – Sandra is looking at it all from the outside, as if she doesn’t belong… She hears her boyfriend Christian whispering on the phone, others talk about depression and say Sandra ought to go to therapy. She feels misunderstood – the meaninglessness she feels is there, after all. One day her car doesn’t start and she sees a shadow slink away. A marten burrows its paths and awakes a desire in Sandra. She wants to break out, to feel life. She doesn’t want to function just because she has to.
