Violeta cannot believe what she just heard. After a passionate night with her husband, she goes to work as usual the next day. When she checks her mailbox after lunch, there is a message from her husband saying that he is leaving her.

Confused and distraught, she looks for answers and reasons, but cannot seem to find any clues. She decides to follow her husband, who mentioned he was going to Porto Alegre for a while. When she arrives at the airport, the last plane has already left. The next flight is the following morning.

Violeta checks into a hotel but cannot take being by herself. She tries to forget her sorrows at a club, then walks to the beach. There she meets a girl named Bel and her father, Nassir, who finally manage to cheer her up a bit.
