Moretti, a cultivated, individualistic gentleman is enjoying his old age in “his” Venice. Still, he becomes suspicious when a young, somewhat hectic stranger wants to borrow money off him. At first, Moretti reacts with seemingly superior cynicism to the young man’s plight.
