War time in Germany. Fabian and his family are hiding in a cellar in their hometown Offenburg hoping that the war will spare them. But eventually it arrives there, too, and the family decide to escape. Fabian is accompanied by a diary, a present from his elder brother, Marco, to remind him of the times before the war.
