Through a blow of fate a young farmer, Leachim, a doctor, Biela, and Elena, a single mother, all lose a loved one. They all share an inability to accept the loss and to deal with the pain, an inability that threatens their future relationships. As the inner strain and the despair over their own inability to deal with their experiences gradually increase, the situation comes to a head.
