50-year-old RuÏa came to Switzerland from Belgrade full of hope for a better life. Now, 25 years on, she has just one passion left in life: money. She owns a canteen in Zurich which she manages with an iron hand and financial success. Her life consists of tightly planned daily routines: work at the canteen, counting the daily receipts, eating supper alone in her small apartment. RuÏa has settled in Switzerland for good and doesn’t even contemplate returning to Serbia. For Mila, 60 years old and RuÏa’s long-time employee, things are different. She and her family have been working hard for decades to fulfill their dream of a house of their own in Croatia, their home country.
