The successful photographer Frank lives life in the fast. Rushing from one lucrative photo shoot to the next, his private life gets left by the wayside. When his ex-wife fails to pick up their son Benjamin at the agreed time, he has to decide between a tight deadline and Benjamin. Compared to all the celebrity and fashion photo shoots, the 11-year-old, who is shifted back and forth between his divorced parents, seems like a secondary character in his father’s life. Rushing to the next shoot, Frank doesn’t notice an approaching car. The impact causes the detachment of his Retina and he goes blind. DER BLINDE FOTOGRAF tells the story of a damaged father-son relationship and shows that sometimes radical changes can also present the opportunity to review one’s life from a different perspective – and sometimes even help to correct past failures.
