It’s midsummer at a campground in the Maremma, a popular beach area in Tuscany. Vincenzo and Adriana, a working-class couple on the verge of separation, are trying with a final desperate attempt to save their marriage, one which is based on precarious dependence.
Their 12-year-old son Nic playfully tries to process his father’s traumatizing and violent outbreaks with his friends. He is well-integrated into his group of friends but finds it very difficult to express his feelings for 12-year-old Marie who is suffering from being abandoned by her father.
For the parents, the summer holiday won’t change anything, but for Nic and Marie, life will never be the same as before.
