The Schenk family’s evening meal is disturbed by the arrival of two officials from the State Criminal Police Office. They are informed that their eldest son, Jakob, is not in Spain, as they thought, but in fact has joined the IS in Syria. A shock for his parents. Time and again they try to contact Jakob.
And then Jakob actually gets in touch with them from a reception camp and implies that he would be willing to return home. The boy’s father sets off on an adventurous journey to the Syrian border and actually manages to find him. However, back home, questions arise: did he return of his own free will, has he disassociated himself from the IS ideology, or is he in fact a ‘sleeper’ agent awaiting orders?
