In 1972, NASA sent off the Pioneer spacecraft. On board was a small golden tag with a message to possible extraterrestrial intelligence: a conventionalized diagram of our solar system and the drawing of a man and a woman. For the residents of Rosfeld, a small community in the Lower Rhine region, encounters of the third kind are not necessarily their most pressing of problems.
