Adriane Gertz is a high-school philosophy teacher. Her ideal of being socially independent and her goal of self-sufficiency are shaken to the core by an affair with one of her pupils, Dominik. The impossibility of living up to her own values drives her to self-contempt. Her daily routine is consumed with power games and fear of abandonment. Adriane is forced to realize that she can’t disassociate herself from human nature, either.
