In the course of a motorbike accident, Eva, a hotelier’s daughter, gets to know Magdalena, a sociologist who works as dominatrix “Lady Maria” in an S&M studio. Fascinated by Lady Maria’s bizarre world, Eva starts searching for her own identity and sexuality and goes on an odyssee through the hidden locations of lust: dominatrix studio, swinger club, striptease bar. There she encounters others who are torn between their desires, people like Dominik who’s trying to empathize with the suffering of Christ, or Mike who pretends to be her guide through the realm of desire but falls in love with her all the same.
”Society wants people to be standardized. They are easier to handle. But can emotions be standardized? And anyway, who sets these standards? Who standardizes us? Who is living our lives? Most people just exist, they don’t live. Live yourself.” Lady Maria
