17-year-old Aylin has a recurring dream: a long path leads her through branches and foliage and fresh forest air. But before she can recognize where the path is taking her, she awakens. The young German-Turkish girl wishes nothing more than to be able to continue dreaming this dream. After trouble at school, Aylin gets a second chance: she is sentenced to social work at a horse farm. At first she seems lost between piles of manure, wheel barrows and the strict horse farm owner, Iris. But then she meets the wild Icelandic horse Hördur. Aylin feels magically drawn in by Hördur and discovers, against all odds, her true passion and particular talent: horseback riding. On the horse’s back, Aylin regains her self-confidence toward her peers and her father, who finally recognize her for who she really is. Finally, Aylin is no longer afraid to awaken from her dream.
