Walt, 30-something and a clerk in a small store in a run-down Portland neighbourhood, falls for happy-go-lucky Johnny, a teenage illegal Mexican immigrant who doesn’t speak a word of English. He ungraciously accepts Walt’s attentions and company, even though he prefers women himself, and generally takes his Mexican friend, Roberto Pepper, along. An odd kind of relationship develops, the threesome at times having fun, then again the Latinos brutally exploit soft-hearted Walt’s crush.
