Do we really know our own parents? The 14-year-old Anouk does a mandatory internship at the insurance company where her mother works and gets to know a very different side of her mother. Coincidentally, Anouk gains insight into questionable practices in conjunction with the reimbursement of insurance coverage. Does her mother know about it, is she perhaps even involved herself?

This week of confrontation with the work world of grown-ups with all its minor arrangements and great cowardice has a decisive influence on the young girl’s development. It becomes a kind of “initiation ritual” and leads to a certain personal responsibility, but it is also a cut with and to a certain extent the final departure from childhood.
