The exhausted Japanese man Oshima misses his connecting flight to Tokyo and is forced to spend a night in a German metropolis. But jetlag and the painful memories of the family he lost keep him awake. He wanders through the foreign city with a business partner and trails off into the night. In this very night, Oshima disappears without a trace. He seems to have dissolved in the night, due to homesickness for a place that only exists in his memories.
