Rose is in her early forties and a single mother of three – more or less – grown-up sons: Bernd (23) works in a copy shop and in the evenings helps out in a bar to earn his share in the family finances, Axi (21) is a bank trainee, and Stan, the youngest, will soon turn 18 and rather than taking his A-levels would prefer to become a DJ.

In the early 80’s, Rose lived it up in squats, but her way of life changed quite abruptly ten years ago when she split up from Jürgen, her sons’ father.
