Reluctantly and on top of it all, with bad weather, the Hamburg architect Georg Winter drives with his wife Eva and their two adult children, Reh and Jan, to a remote mountain village for his mother’s funeral. He hasn’t been to his home town in more than 20 years. Through the confrontation with his past, with his old girlfriend Hannah and her son Alex, the seemingly harmonious façade of his family life starts to crumble. At the reading of the will, things come to an uproar. When the village is then isolated from the outside world by an avalanche, Winter can no longer escape. The architect’s carefully constructed life is on the verge of falling apart.
